The Senior Brand & Communications Manager plays a central role in shaping how zooplus plans, develops, and delivers impactful communication across markets, channels, and stakeholders. The role combines strategic thinking and strong orchestration capabilities with an in-depth understanding of communication conception, content and channel execution. Acting as a key connector between marketing / content teams, campaign owners, markets, and commercial functions, the role ensures alignment, conceptual coherence and delivery on strategic goals. In addition, the role drives the strategic development of consumer PR, supports vendor communications planning, and strengthens brand effectiveness through clear measurement frameworks, insights, and performance evaluation that continuously inform and improve communication impact.

Overall brand & communication strategy

  • Continuously evolve the brand & communications strategy based on business priorities, customer insights, and market dynamics
  • Leverage internal insights, desk research, and competitor analysis to sharpen positioning and messaging
  • Translate strategy into clear project roadmaps, milestones, and measurable success criteria
  • Drive cross-functional alignment and execution by aligning markets, campaign teams, program owners, and channel teams

Campaign & cross-channel communication planning & enablement

  • Own the alignment of overall communication planning, ensuring clear direction, prioritization, and alignment between channels, campaign teams, markets and program owners
  • Drive the integration of strategic key messages into individual stakeholder strategies
  • Act as a strategic counterpart to campaign owners and channel teams, ensuring alignment between strategy and execution
  • Consolidate campaigns and activations into an integrated planning view

Brand insights & performance

  • Define and evolve brand performance measurement frameworks with Insights and Marketing Intelligence teams
  • Monitor brand perception in close collaboration with Insights / Intelligence, Corporate Communications and Organic Social teams
  • Lead brand performance reporting and reviews, translating insights into clear actions
  • Ensure learnings directly inform strategies, messaging, concepts, and prioritization

Communication concept development

  • Develop communication strategies and concepts across brand messaging, Own Brands, programs, and content (incl. GEO), based on strategic and performance insights, benchmark/ competitor/ category analysis
  • Translate strategic ambition into clear, compelling messages and customer journeys
  • Assess effectiveness of campaigns using qualitative and quantitative signals (brand metrics, engagement, market feedback) to inform strategy refinement / adaptions

Vendor marketing planning support

  • Support the Brand & Content Team’s alignment with the Vendor Marketing / Management team with the inputs for the Vendor Marketing Catalogue
  • Shape and evolve the Brand Team’s contribution to the Vendor Marketing Catalogue, balancing commercial goals with brand storytelling

Public Relations

  • Define the strategic direction of consumer PR in the DACH region, positioning it as a test-and-learn market to validate approaches for broader European rollout
  • Lead the steering of our external PR agency, ensuring brand consistency, timely execution, and strategic alignment
  • Collaborate with the SEO team to identify PR opportunities and maximize organic / GEO visibility
  • Define a test-and-scale logic for PR initiatives, using performance data to guide investment, prioritization, and expansion decisions
  • Define, track, and interpret PR KPIs, connecting PR performance to brand perception, relevance, and the customer journey
  • Own the business case for PR expansion, assessing scalability, market fit, and brand impact across European markets
  • 5+ years of experience in brand, communication, or creative strategy roles, ideally in complex, multi-market environments
  • Proven ability to translate brand strategy and storytelling into strong brand and communication concepts and briefs
  • Ability to structure complexity by defining clear workflows, milestones, and ways of working without slowing teams down
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and a connector mindset, able to align teams, markets, and disciplines around shared ideas
  • Confidence acting as a sparring partner, constructively challenging briefs and strengthening ideas
  • Experience using insights, research, benchmarks, and performance data to inform, assess, and evolve creative concepts, ability to leverage AI tools (e.g. for research, synthesis, and concept development), combined with clear creative judgment and quality standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create decision-ready presentations and documentation
  • A proactive, collaborative working style, combining strategic thinking with hands-on execution
