Job Description:
Main Responsibilities
- Team lead for all SNC Design Engineering resources allocated to the function, including Controls, SCADA, EMS, Network, IT/OT and Cybersecurity engineering disciplines.
- Execution of all projects in the subregion on time and on budget with focus on SNC Design Engineering deliverables.
- Managing solution standardization and development of project/customer-specific features related to Controls, SCADA, EMS, Network, IT/OT and Cybersecurity topics. Support the development of regional engineering capabilities for customer- specific ("last mile") solutions.
- Managing resources necessary to deliver projects and assigned tasks on time and on budget with focus on SNC Design Engineering deliverables during Sales and Design phases.
- Responsibility for finding solutions to critical issues (contractual and technical specifications). Escalation management for all engineering design activities throughout the region (customer and Fluence internal).
- Responsible for creating processes for the team to ensure consistency throughout all engineering tasks and deliverables.
- Responsible for design governance and ensuring technical compliance with customer specifications, contractual requirements, Fluence standards, and regional grid requirements.
- Own the design readiness gate and approval of engineering deliverables prior to handover to the Deployment Team, ensuring designs are complete, compliant, standardized, and ready for successful project implementation.
- Development of younger engineers and supporting them to reach the next level.
- Keep current with all Company products, developments, and projects as they apply to Controls, SCADA, EMS, Network, IT/OT and Cybersecurity systems at both site and enterprise levels.
Key Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience with utility-scale power systems, Battery Energy Storage Systems, renewable energy systems, SCADA, Controls, EMS, Network and IT/OT infrastructure in the EMEA region.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Experience with coordinating complex projects and multiple stakeholders in a matrix organization environment.
- Expert knowledge of Controls, SCADA and EMS solutions for utility-scale energy projects.
- Strong understanding of electricity transmission and distribution sector requirements, including grid integration and grid compliance concepts.
- Deep knowledge of Cybersecurity concepts and methodologies aligned to electricity transmission/distribution standards and industry best practices.
- Experience and extended knowledge in Linux-based systems and commands, Python, Shell/Bash scripting and GitHub.
- Knowledge of technologies such as AWS, Docker, Virtualization, Ansible and cloud- based infrastructure solutions.
- Expert understanding of industrial communication networks, IT/OT infrastructure and plant-level automation systems.
- Knowledge of electrical equipment and plant control architectures including controllers, RTUs, communication systems, inverters, transformers and associated infrastructure.
- Solution-orientated mindset.
- Good communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- German and additional language skills beneficial.
