About HOLY

  • HOLY is the soft drink revolution: With our product lines Energy®, Iced Tea®, Hydration®, Milkshake®, and our newest innovation, the HOLY Syrup Bottle® you get amazing taste across 50+ flavors while maintaining a good conscience—for your body & the environment.
  • Over 2M loyal customers: Started in a shared apartment by three best friends, we have scaled to Europe's fastest growing consumer brand—and our cult-like community, the HOLY Squad, loves it: 4.6 stars on reviews.io speak for themselves.
  • From D2C to Global Omnichannel: In less than four years, we've profitably scaled HOLY to more than €180M D2C revenue in DACH, FR, UK and PL. Now scaling our retail business, we're on an exciting transition to becoming a true omnichannel rocketship.
  • We are still just getting started: Backed by the world's best consumer investors, we aim to revolutionize the soft drink industry and build a generational love brand: tastier, healthier & more sustainable. Our team of 170+ people aims high (Coca-Cola, we're coming for you!).

About the Position

At HOLY, we like big ambitions and bold flavors - but delivering on them requires a rock-solid financial foundation. We are looking for an Accounting Leader who thrives in a scale-up environment and knows what \"good\" looks like.

For us, accounting isn't just about keeping score; it’s the basis that gives us the confidence to move fast. Your mission as our Senior Accounting Manager is to professionalize and scale our financial processes so they keep pace with our expanding footprint. You will ensure our reporting is dead-accurate, our close process is smooth, and our leadership team always knows exactly where we stand. As a crucial sparring partner to FP&A, you will help turn our accounting data into financial clarity across all markets.

Responsibilities:
  • Own the numbers: Drive a fast, flawless month-end and year-end close. You will roll up your sleeves and be completely hands-on with General Ledger (GL) and our group accounting (HGB), while overseeing and guiding our teams who handle AP and AR.
  • Reflect the business: In close collaboration with FP&A, own and continuously evolve our existing Chart of Accounts so it accurately captures our real-world e-commerce operations. You ensure our accounting framework adapts to the business, not the other way around.
  • Scale the processes: Identify bottlenecks in our daily financial operations and eliminate them. While we have dedicated experts for systems and automation, you will be the architect of the underlying accounting processes, ensuring our workflows are scalable, efficient, and ready for hyper-growth.
  • Bridge the gap: Act as the critical link between operational accounting and financial planning. You will ensure that cost center allocations and reporting structures provide high-quality, reliable data for the leadership team.
  • Manage the guardrails & reporting: Lead statutory reporting and external audits across our European entities. You will take charge of regulatory and statistical reporting (e.g., Bundesbank reporting and Destatis), and ensure we have the data foundation needed for tax compliance.
  • Raise the bar: Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) and internal controls that actually make sense for a scale-up. You know how to introduce necessary corporate maturity without suffocating the business with red tape.

About You

You are a hands-on, structured leader who takes absolute ownership of the numbers. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and know how to set up accounting data so FP&A and leadership have the reliable baseline they need to steer the business. You enjoy building scalable processes that grow with the business while maintaining a pragmatic, \"get-it-done\" attitude to our daily operations.
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a comparable qualification
  • 5+ years of accounting experience. Ideally, you built your technical foundation in a top audit firm (Big 4) and then proved yourself in-house at a fast-scaling startup, D2C, or FMCG brand.
  • You know German GAAP (HGB) inside and out and are completely comfortable managing the financial reporting of a multi-entity group structure.
  • You understand the business behind the numbers, bringing practical experience with inventory accounting, supply chains, and high-volume B2C transactions.
  • You are a strategic thinker who can discuss consolidated results with the CFO, but you are also perfectly happy to reconcile a messy GL account yourself.
  • Excellent communication skills in both German (fluent/native-level for authorities) and English.

Our Offering

In today's job market, A-players have many options to choose from. As part of our offer, we prioritise providing a productive working environment and opportunities for growth. In addition to competitive compensation, including company shares, you can expect:
  • A successful and growing company: Join a company that has been growing profitable and quickly for the last 36+ months and have raised a series B, while many other e-commerce companies are struggling.
  • Huge impact and career growth: Enjoy huge impact and hence explosive career growth, build your own market, and shape HOLY’s internationalisation in a top market
  • Awesome team: Join an awesome team of colleagues who are ambitious, funny, down-to-earth, and authentic. Get to know us and see for yourself!
  • Top product: Marketing is important, but a good product is essential. Our differentiated soft drinks have won over customers. Check out our Trustpilot reviews or contact us for free samples.
  • Future of e-commerce: Be part of the future of e-commerce and help set new standards in many areas. Work with the best minds in the industry.
  • Startup culture: Join a startup culture that values flat hierarchies, fast pace, and personal development. With us, you can make a real impact.
  • Perfect setup: Enjoy a perfect setup that includes all the requirements of a modern employer, such as a central office in Berlin Prenzlauerberg, flexible working hours, and much more.
  • How we support your growth: flexible hours, 28 vacation days, 30 work-from-abroad days, €1,500 learning budget, Urban Sports Club membership, 63€ public transport subsidy, and biannual 360° feedback tied to your compensation.

The Process

As we are experiencing rapid growth and have ambitious plans, the optimal start date for the position is today. Nonetheless, we are prepared to patiently await the arrival of the ideal candidate, recognizing that quality ultimately yields the best results.
  1. Getting to know you: We will have a 30 minute screening interview where we will talk to you more about HOLY and the position and see if our expectations match.
  2. Hiring Manager interview with Felix, our CFO: We will dive a bit deeper into your experience and details of the role.
  3. Case study & on-site interview: As soon as you have successfully completed the first interviews, you will receive a case study. In a second meeting at our office, the team will discuss your case study with you and answer questions about our workspace, the HOLY Temple.
  4. Reference calls: At this stage, we’d like to connect with 1–2 former colleagues or managers who have worked closely with you. These conversations help us better understand your working style and strengths from those who know you professionally.
  5. Interview with Fredi: As a strong cultural fit is important to us, you will have a final meeting with Fredi, one of our HOLY Founders. This gives both you and us the opportunity for a final check.
  6. Job offer and decision: If everything goes well, you will receive an offer and we are ready to embark you this journey together with you!
Typically his process should take around 2 weeks.
